I just love food and creating great recipes.
Why the name? Because this recipe is so simple it seems almost criminal to post a blog about it. But it's so delicious, it would be insane not to! This is an example if the perfect kitchen alchemy that sometimes happens when you combine a few simple ingredients and transform them into something astonishing.
One day I was dreaming up new ways to use Frank’s Hot Sauce.
It occurred to me that magic might be made by combining Frank’s with an Alfredo sauce to make Buffalo Chicken Alfredo. Had anyone done this before? Could I find guideposts on the web? Well, of course. I sometimes wonder if there is anything left to imagine that someone else hasn't thought of first. I found a recipe onSparksrecipes that I used as my departure point, but I made some changes. I was specifically looking for a way to use purchased Alfredo sauce to make the recipe as simple as possible. So here is my version. Please make this recipe because if you do, you are going to love, love, love me. And I love being loved. So here it is:
Combine one 16 oz. jar of Ragu Roasted Garlic
Parmesan Alfredo Sauce with ¾ cups Frank’s Hot sauce in a medium saucepan. Please don't even think about using any other brand than Frank’s or I will have to get ugly with you, and that’s not pretty!
Add 12 oz. of precooked grilled chicken strips (I used Tyson’s), cut up into smaller pieces. Add the chicken to the sauce.
Heat the sauce while you cook 16 oz. of fettuccine according to package directions. When done, drain the pasta and put it back into the pot. Pour the sauce over the pasta and toss to combine. Serve in pasta bowls and garnish with blue cheese crumbles and sliced green onions.
That's all there is to it. And when you taste it, you will have to agree that it's unbelievably good. My husband and I were simply stunned by how much we enjoyed it. Not only is it super-fast to make, but it just tastes wonderful. It serves six easily, so we had plenty of leftovers. I worried it would become thick and gluey after it sat in the refrigerator, but when we heated it up in the microwave two days later, it was every bit as creamy and delicious as it had been the first night we had it. In fact, I think it was even better.
So shuffle off to your local grocery, pick up the necessary ingredients, and make yourself some Buffalo Chicken Alfredo magic.
