This is one big spider.
...and the spider is real.
(Fox) “On June 19, the couple found the eight-legged unwelcomed guest crawling on the back patio door of their San Antonio home, Teouna Thomas told Fox News. The spider appeared to be bigger than the size of a human hand.
‘I was terrified! My husband actually saw it before me because my back was turned to the patio door,’ Thomas said. ‘I saw my husband's face and he was like, 'Oh my God, what the heck is that?'’ she said to the Star-Telegram. ‘He doesn't scare easily and looking at his facial expression and hearing what he said, I expected to see some monster.’”
So, after reading this story, we wondered what kind of spider scared the pants off this couple. It is simply huge. We were disappointed because the story did not include the particular species of spider. So, we did some research.
(International Business Times) “The spider was likely a Texas Tan Tarantula, which is big but mostly a harmless spider that often eats crickets and roaches, an expert at the San Antonio Zoo told local news outlet KSAT.”
