NPR “Attorney General William Barr said Thursday that he doesn't believe President Trump has overstepped the boundaries between the White House and the Justice Department in a number of big recent cases.”
The Attorney General sounds like the President in accusing the media of spreading fake news and being a part of the mob mentality. Mr. Barr sounds more like Donald Trump proclaiming the media is the part of a mob mentality spreading inaccurate and incomplete news than an independent enforcer of the law. His fake news message is purely Trumpian politics.
When The Attorney General is pressed on naming any other case where he was as involved as he is with Roger Stone and Michael Flynn, the Attorney General could not point to one example. He dodged the bullet by proclaiming he is charged with insuring justice is done instead of dealing with the real substantive issues facing his recent decisions on Flynn and Stone. Regardless of whether he is factually correct, he is acting more political than independent as the Attorney General
Barr does a good job in this interview making it sound like he is doing justice in the Flynn and Stone cases. He use “justice” as a shield to hide what appears to be obvious political, and not legal, motivation designed to serve Trump’s interests. Barr does think he is doing his duty.

To be fair, Barr has also said he was making decisions in cases to uphold the rule of law doing his duty as he sees it. Watch the CBS interview with Barr below.
