Is Donald Trump self destructing? Is he on a suicide run to political oblivion?
Trump’s behavior is irrational. Moreover, his behavior is undermining our republic’s credibility and may be causing serious harm.
As evidence of Trump’s politically suicidal ideations, consider the following:
Trump is going after Anthony Fauci, but is not firing him. Fauci is respected, Trump is not. So why is Trump attacking a credible medical scientist?
Perhaps Trump is thinking taking down Fauci will enhance Trump’s credibility when Fauci is gone.
It is not working. Fauci’s reactions show it is not working.
Fauci has appropriately described Trump’s actions as bizarre. The Atlantic reports the following:
“‘Ultimately, it hurts the president to do that [discredit Fauci],’ Fauci told The Atlantic in a series of interviews this week. ‘When the staff lets out something like that and the entire scientific and press community push back on it, it ultimately hurts the president.’
He described the White House attacks against him as ‘nonsense’ and ‘completely wrong.’ He also seemed dismayed that they are coming at a time when COVID-19 is surging across the country, deaths are once again rising, and Americans remain deeply confused about how to keep themselves and their loved ones safe.” The Atlantic
Yet Trump attacks Fauci while he lives in a state of denial. Instead of giving facts, Trump attacks to hide the scientific truth.
Trump is demonstrating a complete lack of leadership coupled with a lack of compassion-leadership and compassion are needed to deal with the Coronavirus pandemic effectively. Instead, Donald Trump is making the Coronavirus a political football. As evidence of this, NPR reports “White House Strips CDC Of Data Collection Role For COVID-19 Hospitalizations.”
Why would Donald Trump want to withhold factual data from the American public? Why is he trying to filter information?
The answer is simple…Trump wants to gain a political advantage, to control information for his political advantage and to spread propaganda as he sees it. Trump’s actions constitute a dangerous political maneuver in a pandemic. It places the public health at risk.
“Public health experts expressed dismay and confusion over the reporting change because of how it could disrupt public access to the data. It also comes at a time when the Trump White House has openly sparred with CDC Director Robert Redfield and other federal scientists about the pandemic response.
‘It's really hard not to see this as some kind of interference or snub [to] the CDC,’ says University of Arizona epidemiologist Saskia Popescu. "With so many concerns over the politicization of data right now, this is concerning.’" NPR
With this in mind, just what is going on with Donald Trump? Is he a political genius manipulating the Coronavirus facts to win by fooling voters? Will his brilliance fool voters into believing his propaganda is true? Will the spread of his Coronavirus propaganda, in conjunction with falsely degrading the lead infectious disease scientist, propel him into a second term?
…or is Donald Trump turning into a political nut job on a one way street to political suicide?

All the president is, is a glorified public relations man who spends his time flattering, kissing, and kicking people to get them to do what they are supposed to do anyway.
