Our nation is facing a national healthcare crisis. It is at war with the coronavirus. Unfortunately, much of our political leadership is failing us in our efforts to stop the coronavirus. Many political leaders suffer from “the head in the sand virus.” They refuse to take decisive action to stop the spread of a disease that cost lives and seriously impacts our health.
This failure has led to a resurgence in infections. It is obvious that many people, do not want to wear masks in public and do not respect social distancing rules. It, therefore, can be assumed that they are not washing their hands and taking other health protections that would stop the spread of the virus.
We can help slow this thing down, even though it appears to be getting out of control due to our failure to act in our own self interests. There are those who battle us at every turn complaining about wearing a mask because it infringes upon their constitutional rights, while they participate in actions that will cause others to be infected at their economic and health related peril.
The solution has always been simple, wear a mask, wash your hands, do not touch your face, and practice social distancing. If we all did this, we could have controlled the spread of the coronavirus. We could save lives, we could preserve our health, we could protect one another. Unfortunately, neither our president nor a good number of our political leaders have come up with a unified plan following medical advice. Moreover, we, as a people, are not doing what we are supposed to do to protect ourselves and our nation.
We need to look out for one another because our leadership is not. We, as a people, need to come together to protect ourselves because our leadership is not. We need to do so for our best interests and for our nation.
Make America Safe Again (MASA)-wear a mask!
