NPR - "President Trump's campaign rallies were defined by three slogans, three syllables each, which the candidate led the crowd in chanting: "Build the wall," condemning illegal immigration; "Lock her up," attacking Democratic rival Hillary Clinton; and "Drain the swamp," all about cleaning up Washington."
Here is Trump's promise about draining the swamp...
"Does the Iowa debacle make you want to scream? Are you tuned out of Mike Bloomberg’s endless TV ads? Can’t stand the idea of yet another diner interview? I hear you. A stump speech is rarely interesting, let alone inspiring, the second time around. A year of them from a half-dozen or more candidates is most people’s definition of hell.
But to a reporter from Australia, who’s lived in Britain and Brussels, and observed elections from Egypt to New Zealand, and now lives in these United States, I can tell you this: American democracy has a level of rigor and engagement that’s as precious as it is unusual. And there’s no better expression of that energy than the yearlong (or is it yearslong?) presidential primary.
The grueling transparency of the long campaign is a feature rather than a bug of your democracy. It’s time to embrace it." Read more from RYAN HEATH as published at Politico.
Joe Biden’s Super PAC issued a memo, warning of a “doomsday" scenario for the Democratic Party. It pushed the "nuclear option" making the claim that Democrats would suffer irreparable harm if Bernie Sanders, Pete Buttigieg or Amy Klobucher is nominated. The memo is exactly what is wrong with the establishment Democratic Party. The memo is evidence that Joe Biden’s campaign has derailed.
With Mr. Trump, if you oppose him it is "with malice toward all." Trump will continue to take acts of retribution to all who helped the impeachment investigation against him, no matter who they are.
The # 1 issue for the 2020 campaign is not Donald Trump’s character. It is not impeachment. It is not Trump’s conduct surrounding Ukraine. It is not Donald Trump’s propensity for lying. It is something greater, it is the economy and it is The Great Affordability Crisis.
Trump wants his impeachment expunged from the record. He is taking acts of retribution against those who testified in the impeachment inquiry. He made a rambling "victory speech." His conduct shows he is a selfish, egotistical man with a lack of understanding of what history is doing to him.
There was a debate on February 7, 2020. Fortunately, there was one candidate who stood at from the rest-Amy Klobuchar.
The political pundits are all but pushing Biden's campaign into the grave. Using the Iowa caucus and the predicted New Hampshire primary results many pundits are saying it could be the end for Biden. Some think it makes Biden's run more difficult.
Trump is calling for the President of Afghanistan to investigate Pete Buttigieg’s recent activities in the country. Trump said he plans to withhold aid to Afghanistan and withdraw troops unless the investigation began immediately.
