a blog exploring politics
The political pundits are all but pushing Biden's campaign into the grave. Using the Iowa caucus and the predicted New Hampshire primary results many pundits are saying it could be the end for Biden. Some think it makes Biden's run more difficult.
Here is the bottom line. The Democratic Primary is a long haul. Iowa is not representative of the Democratic base, which is needed to win. New Hampshire is a primary but not necessarily an accurate picture of the Democratic base needed to win. The Democrats in this nation are diverse, and neither Iowa nor New Hampshire include enough of that diversity to give an accurate and complete picture of what is to come.
If you look at the poll results in the Real Clear Politics polling graphic above, things are going to change in North and South Carolina. It appears that Iowa is having little impact on these two states, both with a more diverse democratic voting base. South Carolina, in particular, has a significant black voting base. Biden does very well with the black voters.
Neither Sanders nor Buttigieg poll well with the black voters . Therefore, don't count Biden out yet.
It is too early to say who the two strongest candidates are for the nomination because things will change significantly in this primary.
“Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies.”
