In order to fulfill a campaign promise the GOP is trying to pass a tax plan that increases the deficit to achieve a short term political gain. If passed, the politicians will run home and say “we did it.” From what we are learning they will do it, they will pass a deficit increasing tax plan kicking the deficit down the road for others to worry about.

Second, if a CBO report is true and the bill hurts the poor while increasing deficits, can the GOP afford to pass such a plan?
Should he quit?
In a rush to pass a tax plan to fulfill a campaign promise the GOP is penalizing certain taxpayers. Instead of doing long term planning and rewriting of the tax code, the GOP is more interested in saying "we did it" instead of fixing an overly complex and inequitable tax code.
