We are seeing an increase in the size of government in ways that unjustifiably impact our civil liberties.
WASHINGTON — The House voted Thursday to renew for six years a controversial surveillance program that collects the content of Americans' email, text messages, photos and other electronic communication without a warrant.
We agree with Republican House member Ted Poe of Texas. This act was never designed to go after Americans. This is another step at eroding our constitutional rights in the false name of security, expanding government in ways never intended by the Constitution.
We are treading dangerous waters.
