Democrats need to abandon their slick political campaign "A Better Deal." Instead, they need a simple message of action and equality:
"Infrastructure: the key to rebuilding America and making her strong again."
Infrastructure means jobs, economic development, security and equality.
The Democrats need an infrastructure plan and here it is:
First, fix roads and highways. Our roads and highways are falling into disrepair. Rebuilding our roads and highways will improve transportation, provide jobs, and make life easier by improving the arteries for transportation across the country.
Second, fix our bridges, they are crumbling. Fixing and rebuilding our bridges will provide long-term jobs for people across our country.
Third, fix our rail system. Like our highways and bridges, the rail system provides a key transportation system. The rail system is decaying, fixing it will help rebuild our transportation system to deliver goods in a cost-effective manner.
Fourth, make water safe again by rebuilding our water lines. Flint Michigan is just one example of the decaying infrastructure delivering water in our nation. Pipes are growing old; water contamination is a real threat. This project provides for jobs, clean water and a healthy America, something we need to do in a bipartisan way.
Fifth, fix our sewer lines and sewer delivery systems providing for additional water treatment and recycling of water across the country. Like waterlines, our sewer lines are old and decaying in many parts of the country, and, once again, this long-term project will provide long-term jobs and will improve hygiene and safety for all of America.
Sixth, fix our electrical grids. The electrical grid is on the precipice of failure, and if these grids fail, it means big trouble for America. Committing funds and resources to rebuild it is essential. It is time for a plan.
Seventh, start building an Internet infrastructure connecting us in ways we have never been connected before. Information and Internet access should be available nationwide, connecting urban and rural areas in ways we have never been connected before. This project alone can provide long-term jobs and bring our nation closer together in ways that it never been imagined.
Demand that Donald Trump and Republicans join in on the effort:
Infrastructure: the key to rebuilding America and making her strong again.
When Donald Trump and Republicans refuse to join in on this plan, ask America who really wants to make America work again, who really wants to make America strong again, who really wants to rebuild infrastructure, providing America the key to rebuilding America and making her safe again?
When asking for the answers to these questions, Democrats need to drop the Democrat versus Republican bickering, they need to talk about cooperation in efforts to rebuild jobs, provide for economic security, and make America stronger through rebuilding-making America work again, safe again, secure again and healthy again.
Democrats need to draft a specific bill with a specific plan demanding Trump to sign off on the plan keeping his promise to rebuild America’s infrastructure.
If Trump doesn't deliver, initiate a plan without him.
