Mitch McConnell is so embroiled in fulfilling a campaign promise for Republicans, that he has forgotten that he was not elected to go to Washington to hurt people. His repeal and wait plan will do just that. Thank goodness, there are some GOP senators have common sense.
"Sen. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) announced on Tuesday that she will not vote on a plan to repeal the Affordable Care Act without a replacement in place, saying in a statement that she “did not come to Washington to hurt people.”
“I have serious concerns about how we continue to provide affordable care to those who have benefited from West Virginia’s decision to expand Medicaid, especially in light of the growing opioid crisis,” Capito said in a statement regarding the GOP’s current plan to repeal the ACA, better known as Obamacare, without a replacement. Mic
The repeal & wait plan is flatlined. Three Republican senators have said they will not vote for repeal plan.
It is time for McConnell to start reaching across party lines and to come up with a cooperative plan of action to repair and amend the ACA, to deal with issues such as high medical costs, high insurance premiums, and access to healthcare. Anything else, is a betrayal of the oath of office he took to serve the people of his state and of this country.
It's time to leave the partisan politics behind and start using some common sense in a nonpartisan effort to guarantee healthcare for Americans.
