Roy Moore is probably a sexual predator. At least he has been one in his past. People are outraged, but Roy Moore will still win the Alabama senate special election. Here is why:
1. The accusations are old; many voters will think it is all ancient history.
2. Moore has effectively convinced his voters that the accusations are a part of the Obama-Clinton machine’s propaganda against him. His message strongly suggests that the press is liberal, and the effort is pushed by liberals to defeat a Christian, God fearing man.
4. Moore’s base simply does not care.
5. Finally, there is this:
The Fix's Eugene Scott has actually noticed an uptick in the number of GOP women who have publicly said they are supporting Moore. Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey (R) says she has reason to believe Moore's accusers, but she will vote for Moore because “we need to have a Republican in the United States Senate to vote on the things like Supreme Court justices.” Trump's top aide, Kellyanne Conway, urged Alabama voters to support Moore because a tax bill will be easier to pass with another Republican senator than a Democratic one. The Washington Post
Polling shows the race is close, very close. This means, depending on voter turnout, the advantage is with Moore. However, just throw the polling out-Moore will win because it is easier to pass the tax reform and the GOP is effectively selling this kind of message to its target voters.
Alabama is ripe with those GOP target voters so…
Moore will win.
If he does, this is an unfortunate reality of today’s political climate further revealing the ugly side of America.
